Answer / dhrubajyoti dam

fe 415 & fe 500 is yield strees of deformed bar...i.e 415n/mm2 & 500n/mm2
i.e if 415n & 500n force are applied per mm area then the bar is going back to its original position...

In Fe415 & Fe500,What is mean by "Fe" and "415/500"?..

Answer / prabhuling s. kalburgi

FE - indicates Ferrous.

415 / 500 indicates the Tensile strenth of the Steel.

For example - Fe415 steel will have a strenth of 415 N/ mm2

In Fe415 & Fe500,What is mean by "Fe" and "415/500"?..

Answer / modipraveen

Hi, Fe indicates Ferrous in reinforcement and it tensile
strength should not be less than your represented value.
Normally Fe415 is Mild Steel Its Tensile is 415
and Fe 500 is Tor/TMT steel

Hello Engineers!!

Fe is Iron, simple. the numbers 415, 500, 550 etc denote the minimum YIELD STRENGTH of the sample. it is not the ULTIMATE STRENGTH, which WILL be higher than yield strength.

Hope the answer is satisfactory.

In Fe415 & Fe500,What is mean by "Fe" and "415/500"?..

Answer / amit

Fe=ferrous ,415 =yield strength
Yield strength for mild steel =250
Yield strength for HYSD=415 N/mm^2

In Fe415 & Fe500,What is mean by "Fe" and "415/500"?..

Answer / mmemek-abasi paul

Fe 415 indicates that the yield strength (tensile strength when it is subjected to elongation) of steel is 415.

The abbreviation Fe stands for Ferrous material ie iron from which the reinforcement steel bars are manufactured.

In Fe415 & Fe500,What is mean by "Fe" and "415/500"?..

Answer / arindam ghosh

FE 415/500 or 600 represents the Yield Stress of the Bar.This is the Yield limit of the Bar(Mild or HYSD). The Load applied per Square unit of area of the Bar(Example: 500 N/Square MM)and the Bar tends to bend or Yield.
