VSH PRX LoaderDeank has released a new update of webMAN 1.47 for Cobra/Mamba on 4.46 CEX/DEX, 4.50 CEX/DEX, 4.53 CEX/DEX, 4.55 CEX/DEX, 4.60 CEX, 4.65.x Rebug, 4.66 CEX/DEX, 4.70 CEX/DEX, 4.75-4.83 CEX/DEX and for VSH PRX Loader by user.

Source Code for webMAN 1.47: http://www.deanbg.com/webMAN_1.47.zip (Includes all versions, source, ps3netsrv builds for linux/windows/nas, category_game.xml and all the other stuff).

UPDATE: This plugin has evolved to sMAN to avoid confusion with webMAN MOD (a fork of webMAN).

Changes in webMAN 1.47n updated 2017/02/13
* Added support for 4.81CFW CEX/DEX

Changes in webMAN 1.45n
* Added native support for NTFS

Changes in webMAN 1.43 updated 2015/08/21
* Added support for 4.75CFW CEX/DEX

Changes in webMAN 1.42 updated 2015/05/18
* Added support for 4.70CFW CEX/DEX

Changes in webMAN 1.41 updated 2015/01/04

* Fixed issues when using more than one external USB HDD on Cobra CFWs (4.46-4.66+)
* Fixed issues with homebrew locks/blackscreen/invalid-discs and other weird errors (CFW 4.65CEX/DEX and 4.66CEX)
* Removed habib’s patches and added two different ones to improve compatibility
* JB games from FAT32 USB HDDs will be mounted as /dev_usb (and not as /dev_usb***) – this issue appeared in CFW 4.20. /dev_usb is always the first usb hdd which the ps3 manages to mount. When it happens that your game is not on the first/fastest usb hdd it caused problems. “Reset USB Bus” was introduced to multiMAN more than a year ago, but it is now added to mmCM, too, without actual reset of the bus.

Changes in webMAN 1.34 updated 2014/12/14
* Fixed processing of last_game.txt (generated by multiMAN). For JB games it contains the path to EBOOT.BIN, which was wrongly mapped to /dev_bdvd. It is now properly mapped to the /PS3_GAME folder of the supplied path in last_game.txt
* When loading JB games webMAN used the default TEST00000 game ID for creating the fake ISO (task.dat). It now checks the PARAM.SFO of the game and passes it to the cobra_map_paths (the way mmCM does) to create proper fake iso (task.dat).
* Improved the scan procedure to exclude some unnecessary files/checks and improved a bit the “lite” version.

Changes in webMAN 1.33 updated 2014/12/01
* Fixes issues with games like “Shadow of Mordor” – it can be launched in JB/folder format from internal/external now
* Probably will fix issues with other JB/folder-format games
* Fix is for all standard CFWs and for cobra CFWs (4.46-4.66)
* /app_home is intentionally not redirected to /dev_bdvd on cobra CFWs

Changes in webMAN 1.32 updated 2014/11/29
* Fixed issues with 4.66 CFW Cobra
* New “Lite” edition without support for network content and smaller memory footprint.

Changes in webMAN 1.31 updated 2014/11/21
* Added support for support DEX 4.53, 4.55 and 4.65 (noncobra and ccapi versions)

Changes in webMAN 1.31 updated 2014/11/16
* Added support for 4.65CFW CEX

Changes in webMAN 1.30 updated 2014/07/12
* Added support for 4.60CFW CEX (with patches from Habib to fix errors 80010017 and 8001002b)

Changes in webMAN 1.29 updated 2014/02/08
* Added support for 4.55CFW for ccapi and noncobra (prx loader) versions.
* Spoof Firmware Version to 4.55 (for 4.46)
* L3+R2+[TRIANGLE] – Enable/Disable webMAN fan control. Has same effect as opening [Setup] and changing the option. It is saved in the settings file.
* Three strings added to gui.h

Changes in webMAN 1.29 updated 2014/01/25:
* Changes to the PASSIVE FTP mode:
- For each ftp connection webMAN will try to use a single port (the first it manages to bind a socket to).
- The port range is from 32768 to 65279.
* Optimized few other things (8KB of memory saved).

Changes in webMAN 1.29:
* Removed [x] Aggressive fan control mode option, because it is now the standard way of setting the fan
* Removed unnecessary options for temperature control (CPU, RSX, CPU+RSX)
* Added Lowest fan speed: 22% option to set whatever (20-99%) you want for lowest speed of your PS3 fan. You will see a tick (enabled) only if you have fan control enabled in “Auto” mode.
* Decreased sprx size a bit and fixed few minor things

Changes in webMAN 1.28 (update #2):
* Fan speed is not longer set to “PS2 Emulator” value if fan control is disabled.
* Fix report fan speed 0% when fan control is disabled.
* Improved the fan control algorithm.

Changes in webMAN 1.28 (update #1):
* Fan control is supported on all CEX firmwares from 4.21 to 4.53
* After unloading webMAN with the combo (but not with /quit.ps3 from a browser) the fan will be set to the “PS2 Emulator” speed
* When PS2 ISO is loaded, webMAN will set the fan speed to the value set for “PS2 Emulator”
* webMAN can use dualshock/controllers assigned to slots 1, 2 and 3 (0 to 2)
* Added options in setup to disable selected PAD shortcuts/combos
* Improved handling of webMAN configuration data in memory

Changes in webMAN 1.28:
* Completely removed Estwald’s fan control payload from webMAN
* Removed all syscall interceptions required for fan-control
* When you quit/unload webMAN (manually or via PSNPatch) the fan control is returned to SYSCON
* Added [x] Show PSP Launcher setting in [Setup] (next to PLAYSTATION®PORTABLE)
* Finally (the reason for the payload removal) the audio from the optical output is not interrupted anymore when fan speed is changed in auto-mode.
* All former fan-control functions are now implemented using one simple syscall (sys_sm_set_fan_policy)
* sprx size (53KB) and plugin memory usage decreased, the stress on the system is now less

Changes in webMAN 1.27 (update #4):
* Keeping NTFS USB HDDs from entering sleep mode should now work (if you didn’t disable USB polling in [Setup]). Drives are checked every 2 mins.
* Titles with dot ‘.’ in their names are displayed properly in the popup when mounted
* Enable/Disable /dev_blind is effective immediately when selected in [Setup], so no need for restart when you want to enable/disable writable /dev_flash
* Added option: [x] Disable temperature warnings.

Changes in webMAN 1.27 (update #3):
* webMAN can be unloaded from memory using the combo (L3+R3+R2).
If you press the combo (or use /quit.ps3) you will see “webMAN unloaded!” popup message.
* The combo SELECT+L3 will show the available space on the system storage (/dev_hdd0) along with CPU/RSX temperatures.

Changes in webMAN 1.27 (update #2):
* Removed the option in [Setup] to select how many titles are displayed in one row
* The icons will auto-fit any screen/device
* Icons and titles are now properly aligned
* The size of the generated HTML (and the used buffer) is smaller
* Improved looks

Changes in webMAN 1.27 (update #1):
* Added notification popup when you load game (or use PREV/NEXT with SELECT+L1/R1)
* Added SELECT+R3 to show CPU/RSX temperatures in XMB or while in-game (while in-game press {PS} button and then SELECT+R3)
* Added support for sending messages to the PS3: http://your_ps3_ip_address/popup.ps3/Your message goes here…
* Decreased “Standard” and “Max” memory footprints
* Added “System overheat warning! CPU: xx RSX: …” popup message if CPU or RSX temperatures exceed 80°C
* Fail-safe combo changed to SELECT + L2 + R3 + L3 (to delete boot_plugins.txt and shutdown your PS3)

1) Connect a controller using USB cable
2) Press the {PS} button to turn on the PS3
3) Immediatelly press and hold both [SELECT]+[L2] + [R3] + [L3]]. Do not release until your PS3 turns off and then back on.

webMAN will delete boot_plugins.txt preventing plugins load on next boot and will restart your PS3 immediatelly. After boot you’re in plugins-free environment.

Changes in webMAN 1.26 (update #4):
- A new fan-control option is added in webMAN [Setup]:
* “PS2 Emulator: ** % fan speed” – you can set the desired value (default is 37%) for fan speed for PS2 emulator, or when the PS3 loads a system function (for database rebuild, firmware update, etc).

Changes in webMAN 1.26 (update #3):
* If you use the key combo for switching prev/next titles (SELECT+L1 / SELECT+R1) the green led will blink for about 3 seconds to indicate eject/reinsert of the game/video (ISO)

Changes in webMAN 1.26 (update #2):
* Added support for 4.53 CEX + Cobra
* Updated the display of the default ISO icons on the web interface

Changes in webMAN 1.26 (update #1):
* Removed auto-loading of last played game from NTFS drives
* Last-games combo (SELECT+L1 / SELECT+R1) now remembers 5 games
* Added small delay at startup to make sure fan-control and webserver load and start properly

Changes in webMAN 1.26:
* Updated prepNTFS to support PSX ISO (ISO/BIN+CUE) from NTFS drives
* Added support for PSXISO from NTFS drives to webMAN
* Added option in [SETUP]: [x] Disable firmware spoofing
* webMAN will also look for covers in mM format in its temp folder as /dev_hdd0/tmp/wmtmp/BLES12345.JPG

Changes in webMAN 1.25:
This is VERY IMPORTANT, so please read:
* webMAN for COBRA7 compatible firmwares is now the default release: webftp_server.sprx
* webMAN for non-COBRA firmwares is named webftp_server_noncobra.sprx
* webMAN for CCAPI is named webftp_server_ccapi.sprx

Why the change?
webMAN for cobra7 is now back down to just 54KB with a smaller memory footprint and less impact on vsh/games which may require more memory. If you download the ccapi/noncobra versions you’ll have to rename them properly.

=========

To grant NTFS access to webMAN you will have to use prepNTFS. You can either install the prepNTFS.pkg application or launch prepNTFS.self from multiMAN’s mmOS. In either case prepNTFS will scan all connected USB drives and will generate data for all PS3ISO/BDISO/DVDISO entries in /dev_hdd0/tmp/wmtmp. NTFS entries have .ntfs[PS3ISO] / .ntfs[PSXISO] / .ntfs[BDISO] / .ntfs[DVDISO] suffixes – 64KB each – this is what webMAN will use to mount the games/videos.

Download prepNTFS: http://www.deanbg.com/prepNTFS.pkg

You have to use prepNTFS if you add new content to your NTFS formatted USB HDDs. Do not forget to use [Refresh XML] / [Refresh HTML] to refresh webMAN’s data

There you are… in just 54KB plugin you have:
- FTP server with remote control functions (shutdown/restart)
- WWW server with remote control functions (scroll down for the complete list of shortcuts)
- Support for loading and browsing of [local] PS3 games in ISO and folder format, DVD videos in ISO format, Blu-ray movies in ISO format, PS1/PS2/PSP games in ISO format with cover display
- NETISO support for network loading and browsing of PS3 games in ISO and folder format, DVD videos in ISO format, Blu-ray movies in ISO format, PS1 and PSP games
- NTFS support for PS3 and PS1 games in ISO format, Blu-ray movies in ISO format and DVD Video in ISO format
- Dynamic Fan Control and in-game temperature monitoring
- PAD shortcuts (scroll down for the complete list of shortcuts)
- Keep USB device awake
- Mount last game or AUTOBOOT.ISO to system startup

Thanks to:

* Cobra Developer for ntfs_ext_iso and rawseciso
* Estwald for the ntfs library port and fan control payload
* @aldostools for tests and suggestions
* @Brenza for the nice update of the HTML/browser mode
* @twisted3313 for suggesting ccappi support

Recommended Settings

* If you only have one USB HDD – you can set “Wait additionally for each selected USB device to be ready” to 0 seconds.
* If you don’t use USB HDDs you can set “Wait for any USB device to be ready” to 0 seconds.
You can play with the timings of these two options if you have controller SYNC issues.

* If you have a SLIM PS3 with only /dev_usb000 and /dev_usb001 you can deselect all other drives to speed up boot time (that is if you don’t use hubs)
* If you have a FAT PS3 (non-BC) with only /dev_usb000 and /dev_usb006 you can deselect all other drives, too

You may have to clear /dev_hdd0/tmp/wmptmp folder or/and use [Refresh HTML] / [Refresh XML] if you have content scan disabled.

Changes to the settings are applied immediately in browser mode, which means that you can change nethost/ip, content scanning, etc… Reboot is only needed to apply the new settings to “My Games”.

Settings are saved as /dev_hdd0/tmp/wmconfig.bin (16 bytes)

The game list (for browser mode) is cached as /dev_hdd0/tmp/wmtmp/games.html and is refreshed only if you press [Refresh HTML] or if more than 12 hours have passed since the last refresh. The xml file for droidMAN is /dev_hdd0/xmlhost/game_plugin/mygames.droid

* In [Setup]:
Plugin memory usage: Standard (1024KB), Min (384KB), Max (1408KB)
The standard option uses 1MB of memory (as it always did) when doing the initial scan and generating the [Games] list for browser mode. The minimal one uses just 384KB (3 times less) and if you don’t have more than 300 games it should be the better option.

Using the “minimal” version I get about 2200KB free memory reported in /cpursx.ps3 page, compared to 1500-1800KB when using the standard one.

[x] Disable content scan at startup
You can use this option if you don’t change your games too often. Once you need to refresh the game list (xml) you can do it in [Games] -> [Refresh]. This affects only XMB and not the browser mode.

[x] Disable remote access to FTP/WWW services
With this option you can disable access to your PS3 from remote computers. Once the option is enabled you can access webMAN setup only from the PS3 browser itself.

Make sure to enter [SETUP] and set your preferred highest temperature (the default should be 70°C, but also may show 62°C, because of the previous webMAN version).

In dynamic fan control you have the options to auto set the fan speed based on: CPU, RSX, arithmetic average of CPU+RSX, or either CPU / RSX temperatures.

Changing the fan options in [SETUP] are applied immediately and don’t require restart (unless you want to disable the fan control). Fan options are only for 4.46 to 4.60 firmwares (thanks to Estwald for the fancontrol payload)

PS3 CPU temperature is monitored constantly and fan speed is changed accordingly for the best experience (both for your ears and for your PS3 calmness) If you previously use a manual fan speed, you may find that with the “Auto” mode your PS3 can be MUCH quieter, while still keeping it cool to the level you want.

On system boot the LED will turn into blinking YELLOW+GREEN – that means that webMAN started scanning devices and creating the .xml files. After webMAN finishes its work (in my case it happens when the “WARNING” message appears on screen) – the LED will turn steady GREEN

Remote web access to webMAN functions:

/ – PS3 file browser (e.g. http://your_ps3_ip_address/ or http://localhost/ from PS3 browser)
/setup.ps3 – Configure webMAN options
/cpursx.ps3 – Display CPU/RSX temperatures & free memory (page auto-refresh every 10 seconds)
/index.ps3 – Show game list
/refresh.ps3 – Rescan games and refreshes mygames.xml for “My Games” XMB entry
/index.ps3?html – Rescan games and refreshes games.html – the [Games] list for browser mode
/mount.ps3/<path> – Mount a folder as /dev_bdvd and /app_home
/mount_ps3/<path> – Mount a folder as /dev_bdvd and /app_home, and close the browser
/eject.ps3 – Eject disc
/insert.ps3 – Insert ejected disc
/quit.ps3 – Unload webMAN from memory
/restart.ps3 – Restart PS3 console
/shutdown.ps3 – Shutdown PS3 console (turn it off)
/popup.ps3/<your message> – Display a message on PS3 screen

PAD Shortcuts:

SELECT + L2 + R3 + L3 – Fail-safe combo to delete boot_plugins.txt and shutdown your PS3
SELECT + R3 – Show free space on the system storage (/dev_hdd0) along with CPU/RSX temperatures.
SELECT + UP/DOWN – Change dynamic fan speed settings
SELECT + L1 – Mount previous title from last 5 mounted games
SELECT + R1 – Mount next title from last 5 mounted games
R2 + L3 + O – Restart PS3
R2 + L3 + X – Shutdown PS3
R2 + L3 + R3 – Unload webMAN from memory / set fan to the “PS2 Emulator” speed

HINT: The combos above can be used in-game pressing {PS} then the combo buttons.

To use “SELECT+L1/R1″ for scrolling last 5 games you must load at least three different games (via browser or from “My Games”). Otherwise nothing will happen when you hit the combo.

In [Files] browser mode clicking <dir> will mount the selected folder as /dev_bdvd and /app_home, allowing you to install PKG files from local drives

Formats supported by webMAN:

* PS3 games in JB/folder format
* PS3 ISO games (in /PS3ISO) – split supported
* PSP ISO games (in /PSPISO and /ISO) – PSP Launcher 2.00 (from Cobra) is required for PSP ISO!
(ISO only – not CSO. multiMAN can be used to convert CSO games into ISO format)
* PS2 ISO games (/dev_hdd0/PS2ISO only)
* PS1 ISO/BIN games (in /PSXISO and /PSXGAMES)
* DVD movies in ISO format (in /DVDISO) – split supported
* Blu-ray movies in ISO format (in /BDISO) – split supported
* Network games in ISO/JB format, BDISO and DVDISO

webMAN requires a modified ps3netsrv and won’t work with the one from the cobra-rogero official rar/zip.
I’ll repost the link with my modifications just in case: http://www.deanbg.com/ps3netsrv.zip

Split format is MyTitle.iso.0 — MyTitle.iso.15

You can use split ISO on usb/hdd, but not over network. It won’t cache anything – it will just work – no delays.

For best results you will have to make the plugin load at COBRA7 system boot:
* Copy webftp_server.sprx to /dev_hdd0
* Create a text file boot_plugins.txt and upload it to your PS3 in /dev_hdd0
* Edit your category_game.xml (/dev_blind/vsh/resource/explore/xmb/category_game.xml) – the only change in this xml is to add one line. If you’re scared to do that, here is my category_game.xml – this is from COBRA7-ROGERO with only added “My Game” folder in the “GAME” column:

This is all you need:

1) webftp_server.sprx (in /dev_hdd0) -> http://www.deanbg.com/webftp_server.sprx
2) boot_plugins.txt (in /dev_hdd0) -> http://www.deanbg.com/boot_plugins.zip (unzip the file)
3) category_game.xml (in /dev_blind/vsh/resource/explore/xmb/) http://www.deanbg.com/category_game.zip (unzip the file)
4) PS3 browser set in Tools -> Confirmation on Browser Close -> “OFF”

6) modified ps3netsrv for network games (net_host)
7) prepNTFS for PS3/PSX/BD/DVD ISOS stored on external NTFS drives.

How to install webMAN on a Cobra CFW

:
1) Update to the latest webMAN (http://www.deanbg.com/webftp_server.sprx)
2) Disable webMAN’s spoofing option in [Setup]
* You can skip 1) and 2) if you don’t use webMAN
3) If you used mmCM, start it and disable spoofing in settings – it will reboot your ps3
4) After restart your PS3 should report the real version
5) Install the CFW with Cobra
6) Replace category_game.xml so that webMAN shows again in XMB
HINT: For easier installation of webMAN use XMB MOD Manager or COBRA CFW Tools.

To make the plugin load at system startup:
* Copy webftp_server.sprx to /dev_hdd0 (so its path will be /dev_hdd0/webftp_server.sprx)
* Create (or edit) /dev_hdd0/boot_plugins.txt and add a line for the new plugin: /dev_hdd0/webftp_server.sprx

Loading games in folder/iso format takes only 1-2 seconds, completely discless, child-proof.

If you add/remove games or attach new usb hdds you will have to use the “Refresh Game List” option in “My Games” or simply restart the system. A restart is actually required for the PS3 to re-read the regenerated fb.xml.

Note: PRX Loader must be run on every reboot. To make the sprx load when the system boots, install a CFW with Cobra 7.x or use PRX Loader.

i love webman

i have webman 1.26 installed great
my problem is:
i can not see any psx .bin games copied to the internal psxiso or psxgames folder
i can however load psx .bin games from net_host/psxiso folder, using ps3netsrv
does anyone else have this issue and if anyone can give me some pointers on what do that would be greatly appreciated.

fadestyle says:

ok this is what i figured out so far since i posted the last problem.
i couldnt see any psx bin files on the internal drive but the ps3netsrv could.

i figured out the internal psxiso folder needs the .bin + .cue files in order for webman “my games” to see it but ps3netsrv only needs the bin file and not the cue file.

weird eh? if that helps any one out then good.
i have not been able to convert bin to iso and get them to work on either side.

Hi Deank
I am in awe of your webman and all it can do. I have been trying to add a package manager to webman so it would have everything in one little area. But I am having not much luck with it. I was also thanking that if you where to change webman like (reactpsn mount games from XMB) so that it were to mount the webman list of games. The firmware would not have to add the stuff to the games xml. And you could refresh the list by just remounting and refreshing the info. Also having bigger pics for games and have 3 per line would make it easy to flip though your list of games. You have made my day with this little app. Keep doing what your doing.

Royusmc says:

Hi Deank
Ok making the mygames like (reactpsn mount games form XMB) is just a little crazy. From what I can tell reactpsn just mounted the PS3_EXTRA with the D000 folder with the PARAM.SFX CATIGORY VM Which is a video type. But form there I just see problem with a game that has a PS3_EXTRA folder in it. However adding a package manager to the mygames looks possible. Maybe one that shows all folders in the package folder. So by adding a ABC folder and putting all your games that start with A B or C in that folder shows the folder and inside that folder all the packages in it. This is such a great app for the ps3.

@edd200sx
1. Download the 1.29 for non-cobra from:
http://www.deanbg.com/webftp_server_noncobra.sprx
2. Rename the file “webftp_server_noncobra.sprx” as “webftp_server.sprx”
3. Copy it to the root folder of /dev_hdd0 on your PS3

Make sure that the file /dev_hdd0/boot_plugins.txt contains the following line:
/dev_hdd0/webftp_server.sprx

I installed latest prx loader / webman 1.29 pkg from http://store.brewology.com/ahomebrew.php?brewid=243 and installed it, then i installed/copy webftp_server.sprx and boot_plugins.txt in /dev_hdd0/ and added one line of tekst “/dev_hdd0/webftp_server.sprx” (without the quotes) turned writing to flash (mounting dev_blind) on in settings of multiman and opent browser clicked triangle and removed checkmark at “tools -> ask to close browser”.
After that i overwritten /dev_blind/vsh/resource/explore/xmd/category_game.xml with the one that is included in the links.
I rebooted my ps3 and the green PRX Loader and a game map where present in the XMB.
I run PRX Loader once. the system rebooted, i opened the new ps3 game folder en clicked setup. After rebooting again and running PRX loader one more time everything is running smooth as it should and outgoing network traffic while playing online isn’t showing me suspicious results. its just like i’m playing
originals.

thousand times Thanks for building a great tool like this. it makes the PS3 console work like it should.
PS. With this successfully installed, I noticed that my FTP server also works when in XMB of Sony what
makes tweaking/testing a lot faster and easier.

Just for the info: PS3 games GTA V, Murder: soul suspect, watch dogs, Drakengard 3 all works like a charm.
PS2 games Kingdom hearts 1 & 2 also works without problems.

Maybe a tip: I always try to install software versions that matches documentation’s because if you don’t, the change it will fail is a lot bigger. ( CFW, loader, patches’, plugins, hardware etc. )

I have a suggestion for the Developer, there should be an option to save the games to th xmb and have them load up from your browser then exit and start the game all with one click and it can get the images the mm uses so its like as if you downloaded the games from the PSN store and its under your Game icon
