The CW has renewed "The Originals" for Season 2, but producers are yet to announce the release date of the forthcoming series, leaving fans somewhat in the lurch for the moment.

Nevertheless, we have some interesting teasers from show creator Julie Plec for fans, who must be eagerly waiting to know what the next season of the series has in store for them.

For those that thought the Season 1 finale of "The Originals" was dark, there could be even worse in store. Fans will need to wait patiently to see exactly what Plec is planning for the future of the supernatural creatures in Season 2. Phoebe Tonkin, who portrays the character of Hayley, says that the upcoming season would be even murkier, as her character will be dealing with her own scary demons.

In an interview with E! Online, Tonkin said, "We're going to see a very broken, a very lost Hayley," adding, "She doesn't know who she is anymore. She not only doesn't know where she came from, she doesn't know who she is right now. It's sad and it's heartbreaking."

At the end of Season 1, viewers saw Hayley was transformed from a pregnant werewolf into a hybrid mama. Hence, it is natural that the former prospective pack leader will now be compelled to find a new mission: motherhood.

Plec teased that "The Originals" Season 2 would be focusing on werewolves.

"The question is what becomes of those wolves?"

She added, "There are plenty of wolves that Klaus was aligned with that were all looking to Hayley as their queen, but now she's no longer a werewolf, she's a hybrid, and there's no love lost there for that species."

Hayley has been transformed into a half werewolf, half vampire, but now she will be compelled to lay down her desire to rule her own pack as she needs to safeguard her daughter.

Meanwhile, the rumor mill claims that all sacrifice-seeking witches have not been killed, denoting that Hope is still in trouble, particularly because we will see the introduction of a spell-casting character name Lenore in Season 2.
