Granny flats | The hidden investment gem in your backyard

A Current Affair recently reported on how easy it is to build a council approved granny flat, without all the normal red tape.

The news piece highlighted that NSW was the first state to allow you to rent your granny flat to someone other than family – opening up a whole new raft of opportunities to create a positive yield for your land.  In fact you can now build your granny flat in NSW without any council approval, as long as you meet their requirements.

In addition, the story sought comment from Money Magazine, who also confirmed the positive yield a granny flat can bring to investors, of up to 18 per cent.
