A piece of art, similar is style to that of street artist Banksy, depicts a boy throwing a Jim'll Fix It medal down a drain.

The provocative graffiti image appeared on a wooden hoarding opposite BBC Television Centre in central London yesterday. The artist is unknown but the mural was soon removed by workmen in White City who painted over the board an hour after it was spotted by passing members of the public and office workers in the area.

The boy in the picture is also wearing a jacket with a Blue Peter badge on the lapel. A real Jim'll Fix It badge was also attached to the mural.

Despite its use of Banky’s iconic blank-and-white sketch style, a spokesman for the elusive artist told the Mail that he was not responsible for the painting.

The controversial piece comes during the biggest crisis at the BBC as police state that over 450 people now claim that they were abused as children by TV presenter and DJ Savile, who died last year aged 84.
