Over the last 15 years, London-based production studio Archer’s Mark has gained widespread recognition for its outstanding work in film, television and immersive production. Accolades include a Peabody award, 5 Emmy nominations (and 1 win), 4 BAFTA nominations, a PGA Award nomination, 8 BIFA nominations (and 2 wins), alongside myriad other festival and awards laurels.

Productions include the British Independent Film Award winner for Best Documentary NEXT GOAL WINS, the BIFA-winning and triple BAFTA-nominated NOTES ON BLINDNESS, BIFA-nominated Roy Andersson documentary BEING A HUMAN PERSON, BAFTA-longlisted and double Emmy-nominated THE REAL CHARLIE CHAPLIN for Showtime, and BAFTA- and double Emmy-nominated HOLD YOUR BREATH: THE ICE DIVE for Netflix. The company’s BFI Doc Society-backed feature documentary A STORY OF BONES premiered in competition at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival, and garnered recognition on the IDA Feature Documentary shortlist and two BIFA longlists in advance of its screening on PBS’ POV strand in summer 2023. GREEN LIONS, which tells the extraordinary story of the Cameroon national football team’s exploits at the 1990 World Cup, also screened on the BBC in the run up to the 2022 tournament.

In the immersive space, the company’s debut VR project NOTES ON BLINDNESS: INTO DARKNESS won the Tribeca Storyscapes Award, Sheffield Doc/Fest’s Alternate Realities award, and a Peabody award for Digital and Interactive Storytelling. Archer’s Mark’s sophomore immersive project ON THE MORNING YOU WAKE (TO THE END OF THE WORLD) premiered at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival, won Best XR Experience at SXSW and went on to screen at the Venice Biennale and the London Film Festival, earning a Special Commendation from the latter and subsequently winning a Prix Italia, the Crystal Owl at Stereopsia 2022 for Best VR Experience and a PGA Innovation Award nomination. The success of the project led to Archer’s Mark being named as one of the world’s 10 most innovative companies in VR and AR by Fast Company in 2023.

In a neatly circular narrative, co-founders Mike Brett & Steve Jamison recently produced Taika Waititi’s narrative remake of their documentary NEXT GOAL WINS for Searchlight Pictures. Due for release in November 2023, the film features Michael Fassbender, Elisabeth Moss and Will Arnett alongside an all-star Pasifika cast, including Oscar Kightley, Dave Fane, Rachel House, Beulah Koale, Uli Latukefu, Semu Filipo and Kaimana in the role of fa'afafine player Jaiyah Saelua.
