Dallas Cowboys Roster Cuts: Which Players Are Most Likely To Be Claimed By Another Team?

Who do you think is the player most likely to get picked up by another team by high noon ET on Sunday?

Tom Pennington

The claiming period for the players released during final cuts on Saturday is fairly short: Players placed on waivers during the final roster cuts can only be claimed until 12:00 noon ET on Sunday. After that, the Cowboys can begin signing up to 10 players to their practice squad, and the hope is that they'll be able to sign all the players they have earmarked for a slot on their practice squad.

But not all the players the Cowboys waived during final cuts may make it past the waiver wire, or will they? Last year, LB Brandon Magee was the only Cowboys player claimed off the waiver wire after final cuts. This year, B.W. Webb has already been picked up by the Steelers, and more players could follow.

Here is a non-exhaustive list of recently cut players who could garner some interest:

  • RB Ryan Williams showed flashes of what he's capable of, and teams might be intrigued enough by his draft pedigree to take a bet on him.
  • The Cowboys wide receivers LaRon Byrd and Dezmon Briscoe could attract some interest from WR-needy teams looking for experienced players.
  • The Cowboys are not exactly stocked at D-Line, but DE Kenneth Boatright showed up in preseason games. Is that enough to get some interest from other teams for the surprise cut?
  • Can the draft pedigree of players like LB Will Smith and CB Terrance Mitchell be of interest to some teams?

Or are we Cowboys fans significantly overrating the attractiveness of our own roster cuts, and not one of the Cowboys' roster cuts will be signed elsewhere?

Take the poll and let us know who you think is the player most likely to get picked up by another team by high noon ET on Sunday.
