AN INFORMAL MEETING ABOUT NOTHING
IN PARTICULAR

object, wood, metal, natural fibre, synthesis, butterfly wing,
165 x 181 x 130 cm, 2011

A temporary construction on the relevance of meetings and conferences

Dates are set, meetings organized, decisions made. Innumerable meetings create the web of everyday business and political structures. Yet often these assemblies are no more than a ritual of dissipation, a vague wandering-around within a defined set of time. As such, they are repetitive expressions of empty flabbiness, a proven form of entitlement that comes along when situated in a particular hierarchical position.
