Our Toad's Turnpike Doesn't Have a Crazy Glitch

By Jazzy on August 11, 2020

Hoo boy, it's been way too long since the last news update. Well here we are, it's that time again! Since it's been so long, this news update will mainly focus on the top 100 for Wii U and the top 50 for Switch. With all that being said, let's get to it! This news will cover the activity from May 3 to August 10, 2020.

Wii U Activity (Top 100)

#4 Noah Hanson starts us off, having set 4 new records, all well in the top 10. He earns two silver medals on Wild Woods and Cheep Cheep Beach. #10 Andrew M continued his adventures on the Wii U version of MK8 with some impressive site records among his many PRs, congrats! #29 Vector revamped nearly his entire timesheet, how about that? Pretty impressive, especially at this level! Closing out the top 50, we have #41 Kyle Wadley. He set 10 new PRs since the last news update, with his highest ranked being on GBA Cheese Land, sitting at 21st place.

#51 Michael O ended up just outside the top 50, with a bunch of strong records submitted over the last few months. With just a little bit of a push, he should have no problem entering the top 50. Go for it! #53 Muhammed closes out the top 100, and is also approaching the top 50 fast. Like Michael, he shouldn't have much of a problem getting there at this pace.

Switch Activity (Top 50)

#2 Kyle Wadley is our top player in this category, with 8 new PRs to show. He also got a site record, which you'll read about below. Not too far off is #5 AlexW03, with more than half his 150cc timesheet improved and some 200cc site records. He's surely proving to be a strong contender at the top and we're bound to see more from him soon. However, he better be careful not to get passed by #6 Sparks, our French Site Champion, who has also been active lately. #7 Sam Smith was also active recently. Not only has he pushed his limits, but he scored a site record since the last news, which you'll see below! #9 Steven Quincy closes out the top 10 with a single PR on 150cc Donut Plains 3.

Just outside the top 10, #11 Perishi set a whole bunch of strong PRs in the 150cc mode including several site records. The top 10 better watch out if he starts putting more effort into 200cc! #16 Thijs van der Woerd didn't have much to show, but he did improve his 200cc rCCB time, earning him a spot in this news update.

#21 Ben Porter sits just outside of the top 20 now. He submitted improvements for all but one of his 150cc times, and was also active in 200cc. Wow! #25 Shine is a new player, and with his impressive timesheet, he's also our new Japanese Champion. We'll have to watch out for him at this rate! #31 Jupiter also impressed, with several PRs and a number of site records.

Four more active players remain in the top 50. First off, we have #41 Neemo, who revealed improvements for his entire 150cc timesheet, and topped it off with a great time on 200cc rYV. #43 Zooms is next up, having joined inside the top 50. #46 Dzubelyu is another new player, instantly becoming our new New Zealand Champion! Finally, #49 Josh K entered the top 50 with several new PRs, his best being on 150cc SGF.

Site Records

It's been a while since the last update. Since then, we've had 17 new site records set:

Hopefully you'll forgive me for the massive delay in writing the news, I've been really busy for the last while. But as usual, I hope you enjoy reading, and best of luck gaming in time for the next update!

Spring is in the Air

By Jazzy on May 6, 2020

Hey fellas, it's Jazzy here with another edition of the MK8PP news! Hope y'all are staying clean and safe and don't have a bad cough. How about we get started? This news will cover the period from April 6 to May 2, 2020.

New Players

How many new players did we get this month? Hmm, let's see... I count ummmm... 10?

  • Albin, UK
  • Brian/PancakeSoul101, USA
  • James Earl Jones, Australia
  • Josh K, USA
  • Kove Ducote, USA
  • LolzyBoi168, USA
  • Mark Jamieson, Australia
  • Matcha, Japan
  • Molinero, France
  • Rhys Phillips, UK
  • Thomas, UK

Wait, that's 11! Haha, missed one on May 1st. Regardless, welcome to the site! Hopefully we see more from you in future updates.

Wii U Activity

#43 Kyle Wadley of the USA leads the pack with a 0.5 improvement to his AF score, fueled by cuts to his times on 5 tracks, to maintain his position. However, he better keep at it, since #47 Vector of the USA is also very active, cutting over 3.5 points to climb 3 ranks. With this, Vector passes Demon of France.

#60 Muhammed of Germany is our next active player. Muhammed set a low 1'23" on Moo Moo Meadows, ranked 59th, which allowed him to stay in the top 60.

Outside the top 100, we now see #149 Matcha of Japan. Being a new player, Matcha is climbing the ranks fast, already in the top 150. Matcha ends up one spot above Loris Bagnasco of Italy. #176 Alfie of the UK is our next active Wii U player. Alfie set strong times on three courses, all inside the top 40. With a complete timesheet, we could see him in the top 50 easily. For now, Alfie climbs 12 ranks to pass Alex Horse of the USA.

#244 Copter of France is our first active player outside the top 200. With 2 new records submitted, Copter now has 20/48 times completed and passes 19 people to land in the top 250. Copter now rests above Zepple of France.

#288 Carla Velarde of Spain was also active this month, now with a one-third complete timesheet. Carla's efforts resulted in an 8-point AF cut, putting her one spot above Chad Hickman of the USA.

Closing out the Wii U section, we have #509 Rhys Phillips of the UK. Rhys submitted 3 times to start his MK8 career, with two of them ranked in the top 200. Hopefully we see more of him in future updates! Rhys passes our Algerian Champion, Youcef Sad.

Switch Activity

Just like our Wii U activity this month, we start with #2 Kyle Wadley, our USA site champion, who has made efforts on both versions of MK8 this month. His efforts on Hyrule Circuit and Baby Park have brought him a step closer to becoming site champion. Good luck!

#13 Zachary Crawley was extremely active this month. With a cut to his score of over 12 points, he has climbed 14 spots, bringing him close to the top 10! Zachary now places above Misty of Ireland.

#56 Josh K of the USA has also been having fun karting. He cut 7 points since joining this month, and is close to breaking into the top 50. With his work, he is now one position above Tyler Perris of Canada.

Our next active players are now right beneath each other on the charts. Our Belgian Champion #68 Anton Delva, as well as #69 Robin Holen of the Netherlands and #70 Pete of the USA, have all shown us what they are made of this month. While Anton and Robin made small cuts of under 2 AF, Pete improved his score by over 13 points, our biggest cut so far. Regardless of how big or small, it's the effort that counts. All three of these players now sit above David Holliss of the UK.

#88 Bluemlittlem of Canada sent in scores of 200cc times this month, amount to a small AF cut, offset by the efforts of the other active players. With these new records, we see him one spot above Dean of the UK.

Our final active player is #214 Brian of the USA, who joined our site this month with a single time on 150cc Toad's Turnpike, ranked 17th. Should we see more from him, we may have a strong contender in the making.

Site Records

Just 1 site record was set this month.

  • Kyle Wadley set the Switch 200cc Excitebike Arena record with a time of 1'16"633.

Well everyone, hope you're all having fun racing. Until next time!

Wii U Activity

Because there has been so much activity since the last update, I won't go into too much detail, and will be skipping the names that didn't make any cuts to their AF. Let's get started!

#1 Danny Z, our site champion from the Netherlands, cut 0.271 AF to solidify his position. This brings him under 5 AF which is quite the accomplishment!

#43 Kyle Wadley and #50 Vector, both from the USA, cut about 0.9 AF each, a sizeable acheivement considering they're both in the top 50. #60 Muhammed of Germany follows with a 0.3 improvement to his AF score.

#123 Nathan F of USA worked wonders and improved nearly 10 AF since the last update, while one of our new members, Alfie, cut 12 AF since joining. #262 Copter also put in some good work, shaving off over 10 AF as well.

#306 Carla Velarde of Spain was also quite active this update, cutting their AF score by 6 points since joining the site. If all these big cuts weren't enough for you, the Wii U updates close out with #376 desukon of Japan cutting 21 AF and #393 Phillipp Hellmers of Germany dropping 15--congrats!

Switch Activity

Moving over to the Deluxe side of things, we start off with a ton of activity near the top. Our #1 and #2 players overall, Andrew M and Kyle Wadley of the USA, both separated themselves from the competition. #5 Sparks of France was the only other player in the top 10 to get any closer to them, with a nice 2.5 point jump.

Just outside the top 10, #11 Perishi of Sweden made some disturbance by shaving off over 4 AF and closing in on the top 10, while #15 Thijs van der Woerd of the Netherlands had a lot to show with a near-30 point cut. To finish of the top 50, #27 Zachary Crawley of the USA worked hard to reduced his score by 18 points, helping him climb the ranks even further.

In the 51-100 range, #76 Kiki of France, #82 Jarrod of Australia, #84 Jeroen Schepers of the Netherlands, and #91 Seth Colpitts of USA, were all a little bit active, each posting a 2-point-or-less improvement. To finish things off, #124 Jayden and #220 Teo, both from the USA, are our last players on the list to have cut AF, also with small but respectable cuts.

By Jazzy on December 3, 2019

Welp, we're now counting down the days till the end of the 2010's and the beginning of the 20's. Having been in this community for half of this decade, I'll say it's been an amazing experience and I'd like to take the time to thank you players for making it all the better. A big welcome to all of you! We hope to see more activity from you guys over the coming months.

Wii U Activity

We had 12 players active here:

#4 Moa of the USA starts us off with five new submissions, including some site records, which you'll see at the end of this period's news. Moa is closing in on 3rd place with a solid cut to his AF. Good job and good luck! #46 Kyle Wadley, also from the USA, cut two-thirds of an AF point with submissions on Electrodrome and Cheep Cheep Beach. Nice one!

#131 Nathan F, again from the United States, improved his timesheet with several new records over the past while, cutting over 10 AF. He could certainly reach the top 100 with continued dedication!

#254 SINFVL returned with a single time, which is also a site record. Check it out below! #281 Copter of France was also active, and added a top-150 time on Twisted Mansion to their timesheet, for an AF cut of almost 7 points. Good work!

#422 desukon of Japan joins with submissions on five tracks, ranging from inside the top 40 to a bit outside the top 100. #500 YUU, also Japanese, made his way onto the Players' Page, settling in exactly at the top 500 mark with a solid 1:36 on Mario Kart Stadium. With more times at this level of play, we could potentially see a strong top 100 contender someday.

#534 Duey Diefenbaker joined with a single time on Moo Moo Meadows, ranked inside the top 400--a good starting point for a beginner. #538 0M3GA, another new member, sent in a time on Royal Raceway sitting just outside the top 400. #539 Yosh_owo of France is just one spot lower on the rankings, having joined with a record on Thwomp Ruins that is approaching the top 400. #542 Joost again did similar, joining with a lone time on Mario Kart Stadium, this one ranked 460th. Finally, #545 Jakenado from the USA, follows closely with a single submission on Yoshi Circuit to start his timesheet, close to the top 250. Nice one!

Switch Activity

Here it goes, all 22 active members:

Our site Champion, #1 Andrew M, leads the pack with 19 new times combined between both modes, bringing his AF to 3.281. We saw some new site records from him, which you'll see below! We also saw some additional site records from our runner-up, #2 Kyle Wadley, who as well as his two Wii U submissions, sent in 14 Switch times. At the bottom of the overall top 10, #10 Steven Quincy maintained his rank by submitting six 150cc times, all ranked in the top 30.

#20 Italic pushes his way into the top 20 overall with loads of both 150cc and 200cc submission. With an AF cut of nearly 4 points in a span of two months, we could eventually see Italic challenging Steven in the top 10 someday. #36 Tristan/Tibs not only set new records on quite literally dozens of tracks, but he moved up a grand total of 16 spots overall--a massive improvement in just two months!

Outside the top 50, #61 Dorian Herniote of France enters the competition grounds with a full timesheet in 150cc and a nearly complete 200cc timesheet. Dorian can easily reach the top 50 with the remaining 10 times added--better watch out! #62 Jack/Lionfish794 is next up, with four 150cc submissions and two 200cc records to bring him just short of Dorian. We could have a rivalry in the making! Down ten spots is #72 Zachary Crawley, again a new member. He submitted 18 times on 150cc as well as one 200cc time--with a full timesheet, he could be in the top 50 very comfortably.

Down the ladder is #76 Brian from the USA, who submitted about half of a full 200cc timesheet. He shows potential in 200cc mode--with a full timesheet he could definitely reach the top 50 overall. #80 Thijs van der Woerd follows by joining with a complete 200cc timesheet. We're looking forward to more!

#129 Zachary submitted 3 times in 200cc mode, giving him a nice boost on the rankings. Good luck with further improving your times! #143 Mark Duivesteijn is a strong contender in the Dutch scene. With several new 150cc times sent in, he is approaching the top 100 fast. Good luck!

We continue with #153 Seth Colpitts, who joined with a quarter-complete 150cc timesheet, showing some great dedication to the game. #155 Thomas Voss of the Netherlands is tailgating Seth, joining with 2 solid submissions: Electrodrome and Rainbow Road, both 150cc. Further, we have the Austrian #194 Jason, another new member, who debuts in the top 200, with two times in 150cc and four in 200cc. With more records submitted, he can certainly climb up the ranks fast! #199 Paul Allain of Canada has earned a top 200 spot with a full 150cc timesheet submitted. He's got room to improve, so hopefully we see some new submissions from him in the future!

#206 Ryan Dnistransky rests just outside the top 200 with his first submission being on 150cc Mario Kart Stadium. #210 Zach of USA also joined the site with a solitary time on 150cc SNES Rainbow Road, ranked in the top 50. Good luck filling the rest of your times! Closer to the end, we see another new member, #231 IronInfidel47, who has a single time on 150cc Mario Kart Stadium to show, almost in the top 100--that should be an easy goal to aim for! We also saw #243 Adriano Edgar, from Brazil, join the Players' Page with a nice submission on 150cc Mario Circuit, not too far from the 2 minute barrier. #260 Antonio, of Italy, is yet another new member who has a nice 150cc GBA Mario Circuit time to show off to the world. What will be next from him? Closing off, we have our final new member, #262 Vivianne, who sent in a very improvable 150cc Mario Kart Stadium time, placed a bit outside the top 100.

Site Records

Phew, that was a lot to cover! Good work guys! To close it off, we have a bunch of new site records, 14 to be exact:

Andrew M set 8 new Site Records: 1'57"591 (150cc) Electrodrome, 1'14"460 (150cc) SNES Donut Plains 3, 1'41"846 (150cc) Dragon Driftway, 1'24"383 (150cc) Big Blue, 1'29"415 (200cc) Sunshine Airport, 1'24"238 (200cc) Dolphin Shoals, 1'14"578 (200cc) DS Tick-Tock Clock, and 1'26"007 (200cc) Wii Wario's Gold Mine.

Autumn Leaves

By Jazzy on October 4, 2019

Fall is in the air, and, admittedly, I've been slacking when it comes to news-writing. But I'm finally back, with another edition of the news. So what are we waiting for? This edition of the news will cover activity from July 30 to September 30, 2019.

New Players

These two months saw 10 new players join:

  • Aidan, USA
  • Beyah, USA
  • Carter Sweet, Canada
  • Guillaume Hurisse, France
  • Jack, Canada
  • Lobo, USA
  • Mark Duivesteijn, Netherlands
  • Nathan F, USA
  • Tristan / Tibs, USA
  • Will Owen, UK

Welcome to all of you—we're eager to see what you can accomplish here!

Wii U Activity

We saw 10 OG's play since the last news:

We start with #4 Tyler Hanson, who improved roughly half his timesheet. Most of the records he set were ranked in the top 10, being a real threat to the players above him on the ranks. What will we see next from him? Next, we have #46 Kyle Wadley, who submitted 11 new times, mostly well inside the top 100. This gave him a 3.6 AF cut—but that's not all from him, as you'll see below! #52 Nate A also did some solid work, setting new PRs on 6 tracks, the highlight being a mid-1:54 on Dry Dry Desert, sitting in 14th place! Altogether, he was able to cut 2.25 AF. Nice job!

#141 Nathan F joined just a few days ago with a full timesheet. His entire timesheet is ranked in the top 300, with six times in the top 100, showing what he's capable of. Best of luck continuing on your journey here! #153 Lobo is another one of our new members, who gradually submitted an entire 48-track timesheet filled with solid times. Lobo's Super Bell Subway record was the best, ranked in 86th place. Welcome to the site! #131 Greg Howard follows behind with six new PRs to show, as he climbs up the ranks with almost his entire sheet now in the top 200. Good work!

#255 SINFVL returned by sending in some strong times on MKS, SSC, rCCB, and dDD. They ranged from 5th to 12th place, proving to be a real scare to the top players. #294 Copter managed to set 3 PRs during the last while, being all top-150 times on MC, TH, and rTT, amounting to a solid 17 AF improvement. Congrats!

#364 Christos Karamanos came back to set a new best on Cheep Cheep Beach, ranked inside the top 300 and giving him a 0.125 AF cut. What will be next from him?

Closing out our Wii U activity, we have #510 Aedilis' return to the site, sending in two times on MKS and rTT. We're glad to see you back!

Switch Activity

22 players were active here during the last two months:

#2 Kyle Wadley leads off our Switch activity as he was the only player to play both versions of MK8. PRs on ten 200cc tracks gave him a 0.6 AF cut, as he solidifies his second-place position. #10 Steven Quincy managed to find time to play, setting 5 new personal bests, all on 150cc tracks. Maybe the most notable was a sub-2' on Twisted Mansion. #27 Italic had a really strong two months, sending in 17 new times on 150cc and 16 on 200cc. Altogether, he cut over 20 AF and passed more players than I can count. #29 Silph Spectre also had a great time, with 11 new PRs to show. Moving down, we have #35 Siôn Sollis who came back to set just a single record on GBA Mario Circuit, although not a bad one as it ranks just outside the top 50. #42 Clockers had an outstanding time lately, setting new records on most of the 150cc tracks in the game. Glad to see it! #49 Royal managed to finally break it into the top 50, just barely. He sent in new records on MKS, RR, rTTC, and dBB, none of which disappointed as they were all top 10 material!

#52 Tristan/Tibs is one of our newest members, starting off in a solid position just outside the top 50. He submitted a full 96 times, and with some improvement, he surely has what it takes to make it into the top 50 or potentially further. Go for it, Tristan! #61 Jack/Lionfish794 revamped nearly his entire timesheet, cutting 1.3 AF. Awesome! #87 EternalX submitted strong 200cc times on rMC, rDP3, rRRy, rMP, and rGV, all ranking either 3rd or 4th. Excellent work improving the Canadian Records! #95 JBullet also sent in five times, one being a top-40 200cc Big Blue time; the other being 150cc times on MW, dRR, dMC, and dBB, all in the top 70.

Outside the top 100, we saw #110 BlueShellToad send in records on Water Park, Rainbow Road, and Royal Raceway, adding up to an AF cut of a quarter of a point. #117 Bex Jones submitted five times altogether; four on 150cc and one on 200cc, showing some potential as they are all ranked in the top 50. Hopefully we see more with time! #143 Shiro, the 200cc Dolphin Shoals master, also set times on 200cc rMMM and 150cc rTT lately. Nice one! #145 Aidan, one of our new players, joined with 4 times, on 200cc MKS, TR, rRRd, and dBB, ranking mostly in the top 40.

#160 Neemo set a single record on Super Bell Subway, ranked 17th, certainly showing potential to further make AF cuts by playing other tracks. #176 Beyah, joined recently with a full 150cc timesheet. While the times we saw all rank outside the top 70, that does mean there's a lot of room for improvement—go get 'em! Tied with Beyah is #176 Jack, coincidentally also a new member. He sent in a single time on 150cc Big Blue, ranked 19th.

#204 Mark Duivesteijn started off his Players' Page career by sending in five 150cc times and a single time in 200cc mode. None really stand out as being better than the rest, but consistency can be an asset when it comes to climbing the charts! #210 Carter Sweet submitted a 200cc N64 RR time of 59.448, then brought it down to 59.195. Keep going! #224 Guillaume Hurisse, also one of our new members, submitted a lone time of 1:48 on Animal Crossing 150cc. This leads to our final new member, #238 Will Owen, who joined and sent in a single Mario Circuit 150cc time, ranked 85th.

Revival

By Jazzy on July 30, 2019

Hello, everyone! If you're reading this, you're probably a bit surprised right now. Long-time members may remember the last time I wrote a proper news post, back on the old MK8 Players' Page. I've decided to bring that back, starting today. This edition will cover the activity from July 23 to 29, 2019, although future news writeups will probably be monthly, or maybe bi-weekly at best. Let's get to it!

New Players

We had 4 new players join this week:

  • Bex Jones, UK
  • Lucas James, Canada
  • Magnus Lyngby, Denmark
  • Zachary, USA

Best of luck to you guys!

Wii U Activity

This week saw 2 members active:

#273 SINFVL, from Ireland, sent in 4 times, on Sunshine Airport, Donut Plains 3, Hyrule Circuit, and Super Bell Subway. 3 of those 4 rank in the top 10, with a silver-medal finish on dSBS! All this resulted in a cut of over 14 AF, passing 28 players on the ranks.

#322 Copter set a Cheep Cheep Beach time ranked 150th, to gain 5.6 AF and pass 11 people. Good luck and have fun with the rest of the tracks!

Switch Activity

We had 7 players active this week:

#10 Steven Quincy (that's me!) set a new time on 150cc Mount Wario, ranked 29th. Not much else to report here.

#69 Jack, aka Lionfish794, sent in a whopping 26 records this week, although none of them particularly stand out. They amounted to a 0.6 AF cut, which unfortunately wasn't enough to pass anyone on the rankings.

#140 Zachary joined the Players' Page this week with 4 times on the 200cc charts. His Sweet Sweet Canyon time, ranked 22nd, is his strongest of the bunch. What will be next from him?

#177 BlueShellToad, a longtime member on the Wii U charts, joined the MK8 Deluxe ranks with a single submission on 150cc Tick-Tock Clock, sitting in an impressive 18th place!

#183 Bex Jones, our second newcomer, submitted a solid time on 150cc Electrodrome, ranked 39th. Other than that, we're still waiting to see more from him. Go get ‘em!

#191 Magnus Lyngby, ranked an impressive 16th in MKDD, joined the MK8 Players' Page with a strong 200cc Mario Kart Stadium record, placing 29th. Will the Double Dash legend stir up more action in MK8DX?

#214 Lucas James, our final new member, sent in a nice time on 200cc Mario Circuit. We're looking forward to seeing what he's capable of!

Site Records

No new Site Records this week, although an honorable mention deserves to be given to Tyler Hanson, who set the Wii U Electrodrome record and tied the Wii U Ribbon Road record last week.

Hope y'all enjoyed the revival of the news, look forward to more in the coming weeks!

Adios, Miiverse

By Jazzy on March 9, 2018

With Miiverse now at its end, as well as hacking presenting an issue for Wii U, here's a quick update with some changes we're making to the site. Following is the new proof policy, effective immediately. This policy applies to both the Wii U and Switch versions of MK8.

Photo proof must show the track and time. The preferred option for photo proof is the ghost selection screen, although end-of-race screenshots are permitted, or the leaderboards (as long as the track name is visible). Photo proof will be required for top 25 times on Wii U and top 5 times on MK8 Deluxe.

Video proof must show the minimap, timer, and run in full (including the countdown). Live runs and ghost replays are valid; MKTV replays are not. Video proof will be required for top 5 times on Wii U and Site Records on MK8 Deluxe.

Thanks for using Mario Kart 8 Players' Page, and good luck racing!

Welcoming Submissions for MK8 Deluxe!

By Jazzy on April 28, 2017

I'm happy to announce that the Players' Page is now officially accepting submissions for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe! To submit times for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, head on over to the "Submit Times" page. At the top, select "Switch" and either 150cc or 200cc.

There are separate charts for 150cc and 200cc. That means you will have two sets of 48 times if you want to play both modes. If you only want to play one or the other, that's fine too. In that case, you'll be ranked on only one of the two Switch rankings (150cc or 200cc).

We're implementing a new proof policy for submissions. If you are submitting proof alongside your submissions, make sure to follow these guidelines, else your submissions may be rejected.

For Wii U submissions:

  • Photo proof should preferably come from Miiverse. If it does not, it must either display the leaderboards or ghost select screen (preferably showing the splits).
  • Video proof should be a live run or a ghost replay. The minimap must be displayed during the race. Videos must show the run in full, including the countdown.

For Switch submissions:

  • Photo proof must display the ghost select screen (preferably showing the splits). End of race and leaderboards snapshots are not accepted.
  • Like for Wii U, video proof should be a live run or a ghost replay. The minimap must be displayed during the race. Videos must show the run in full, including the countdown.

MKTV replays are not an acceptable form of proof, since they do not clearly show whether the run was performed on a Wii U or Switch.

Good luck to all our future Mario Kart 8 Deluxe competitors! Have fun with the new game and see you 'round!

A New Beginning

By Jazzy on April 18, 2017

The time has finally come to launch the new, much-awaited Mario Kart 8 Players' Page. For those who weren't aware, this project has been in the works for almost 2 years, in an effort to revive the site to something much more modern.

So what's new? We've added an account system so you can log in and submit times from the submission page. Bye-bye to the forum submissions! We now have an easy-to-use submissions page which also lets you provide proof and comments about your run. We also have a mobile site for smartphones, and we've included PR history, so your old records are saved.

There are a few features that the old site had that are not ready yet, but are coming soon. We're working on bringing the Past Champions and Recent Times pages back, for instance. The important pages, like rankings and charts, are all here and sparkling new.

Also coming soon are charts for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Around the launch of the game, you'll be able to submit times for the Switch version of Mario Kart 8.

If you were a member of the old site, you'll need to claim your account to submit times. Don't make an account if you already had one before. To claim your account, contact a moderator (indicated with triple diamonds on the Players List), and provide them your email address. Then, you can use the reset password function to set a password for your account.

If you're not a member yet, it's now easier than ever to join! We have a simple registration form that makes it a piece of cake to become a member of our site. We welcome anyone to join, even if you don't submit any times. Members have the ability to customize the site with backgrounds and an optional dark theme. However, only players who submit times will have a public profile and will appear in the Players List.

We're looking for trusted community members to apply for verifier positions. Verifiers will be responsible for reviewing new submissions and approving (or rejecting) them. Contact a moderator if you are interested.

As well, we're looking for players who are fluently bilingual to translate the site into different languages. Mickael Smolen has already volunteered to translate the site into French, and we are happy to accept any high-quality translations, with Japanese being the highest priority.

We hope you enjoy the refreshed experience of the new Players' Page. Special thanks to Mick, Scott Abbey, and all our beta testers for the time and motivation they've provided!
