Carbs and blockages/buildups

Try to learn bits a peices about carbs and had a thought. I keep hearing that when you leave your bike for a while the petrol will build up a residue that blocks up valves ect in your carb same for shit inside the fuel so i was thinking if you use the bike almost everyday can this build up still occur?

 

it does occasionally but it mainly happens when dirt gets in there, think it depends how often you run your tank down really low too and what quality fuel you use, as a rule I wont put supermarket fuel into anything, for the few pence extra the good stuff makes a big difference, doesnt gel up as easily as supermarket fuel does, aslong as your going through a tank a week or more you wont really notice anyway + a carb clean is a good idea on every other service.

 

petrol is fine for over 6 months, about a year is the cutoff point really.
