Welfare Services 22 Mar 2006
Can anyone tell me about the status of Welfare Services and any welfare services missionaries in Thailand? It's been 30 years since I served as a Welfare missionary so any tidbit since then would be appreciated!! Thank you.......Sister (Henderson) Bingham

My Thai Companions 16 Mar 2006
Hi this is Sister Tingey looking for any information on Sister Baramee, Sister Bariyat, Sister Arisa, and Sister Nonglak. I saw a recent picture from sakornakorn and thought I saw Sister Baramee holding a little baby. I'm not sure and I haven't heard anything from them for a while. IF anyone has met them and knows how they are please let me know. Thank you!!!

Translating Scripture - The Thai Book of Mormon 11 Mar 2006
The book "Translating Scripture - The Thai Book of Mormon" is now available for purchase. The book documents the marvelous story of how the Book of Mormon was translated into the Thai language. It also includes the history of the Thailand Bangkok Mission from 1968-2005 and the opening of missionary work in Cambodia, Laos, and Burma (Myanmar Republic). For further information please see www.translatingscripture.com

Laos Dedication -- It's Official 22 Feb 2006
Dateline Bangkok, Asoke Chapel 22 Feb 06 (6:00-8:30PM)

At a fireside this evening (2+ hrs ago) with Elder Jeffrey R Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles presiding and speaking, it was announced by the Thailand Bangkok Mission President, Scott Hansen, that in the morning Elder Holland and the group would be traveling to Laos to dedicate that country for the preaching of the Gospel. Elder Holland, his wife and an Area Authority Seventy have been in Asia the past 10 days or so visiting 6 missions and holding two stake conferences.

I'm sure the news about the Laos dedication will be great news for all and especially those who have worked with Lao, Hmong people in the US and elsewhere.

40th Anniversary Missionary Work 23 Jan 2006
Can anyone supply me with more detailed information regarding the upcoming events? I understand the actual event will take place Oct 21st 2006. Has a location been selected yet? The last several stake meetings were held at the Landmark Hotel on Sukhumvit.
Specifically, does anyone have an email address for President Wisit? I have been contacted by a few RM's interested in going. As a service, I would like to put together an inexpensive tour group to the event for those who are interested in attending using a professional tour agency specializing in that area of travel. If interested please send me your name and email for updates and further information.

Dry Cleaning 09 Jan 2006
Is there dry cleaning in Thailand? I bought 4 pairs of trousers for my mission and found out they're dry clean only.

One last request 08 Jan 2006
Since Gene Platt loaned me his set of "Echo Asia" magazines - publications of the Southeast Asia MIssion November 1969 - March 1973. I think I can make a list of the cities where missionaries were sent before 1 July 1976. If any of you opnened new cities during 1972-June 1976 please let me know the city, the month and year and first missionaries sent. If I'm successful this will be yet another appendix to the book.

BYU Hawaii 08 Jan 2006
Fellows, my friend and I are making a blog for all Thai members to learn more about the campus in the real students' perspective and help BYUH prospects learn more about life in campus. We also have "Ask-Answer" section to give the opportunity for you to ask anything about BYU Hawaii. So.... Just want to promote the blog and hope you will find it useful in obtaining information of the school. Thanks! ART
