Cricket News - Kent Tour results - 25/26/27 May

The SAC CC headed off to Kent for their annual cricket tour to the Garden of England over the long UK Bank Holiday weekend.
Three games were played: Saturday - beat Shepway Stragglers by 129 runs; Sunday drew with Band of Brothers CC; and on Monday beat Chestfield CC by 6 runs!

Golf News - 43rd Spring Cup 2024 Results & Prizes

65 players (including 11 guests) took part In the 43rd Spring Cup Stableford competition. Congratulations to Andrew Perry (SAC Guest), winner of the Castrol Cup, with a gross score of 25 points and to Financial Times Cup winner Karine Rupé-Guiader (Villarceaux) with the best Ladies' Gross score (23). The best Men's Net scorer was Edouard Punelle (Villarceaux) with 38 points. The best Ladies' Net scorer was Marie-Alice Anglade (SAC) with 37 points.  Olivier Brute de Remur tied with Marie-Alice for the best SAC score (37 points). Closest to the pin on the 9th was David Colson for the Men and Monica Greenwood for the Ladies. For the longest drive on the 4th, Andrew Perry won for the Men and Karine Rupé-Guiader was the longest lady.

From Saturday 27 April Junior Football Training will be at 10 am on Saturday mornings until the end of the season.

Sessions are every Saturday at the Club: U11s are 10-11 am, U16s 11 am-1 pm.

Relax, dance and enjoy a low-key Friday evening once a month; next is this Friday 7 June from 8 pm to 11:30 pm. Bring something for a sucré or salé potluck The bar will remain open all evening.

Squash News - The Queen's Cup is back - 8 June 2024

The 2024 edition of the Queen's Cup Open Squash Tournament will be held on Saturday 8 June at the Club after a long break.
The tournament features some of the region's top players and some of our own. The play starts in the morning, with a final sometime in the late afternoon or early evening.

SAC AGM - Sunday 16 June 2024

The AGM will be held in the Club at 3 pm on Sunday 16 June 2024 with a video-conference option also available.  Voting will be held after the meeting via the electronic platform.
A draft MC agenda was sent out in April.  The updated version in the main article reflects refinements since then, and includes the Motions put forward by the Management Committee.  The supporting materials behind these Motions is included in the Draft Management Committee presentation entitled 20240616_Management Team_AGM_FINAL.pdf.
Would you consider joining the MC? Don’t hesitate to put your name down. We urgently need expertise in a whole range of things such as marketing, operations, HR, finance, communication, events planning, legal, bar & restaurant, catering, gardening, office work or simply giving a helping hand.

Teatime at weekends

Teatime is an important cultural and traditional asset at the SAC.
Every Saturday and Sunday from 4 to 5:30 PM the House Committee proposes biscuits from UK and other goodies with Janine's help once in a while.
Please come and enjoy this traditional teatime along with a nice hot cup of tea.

Help Wanted for the Front Desk at Weekends

Thanks to the members who volunteered for the front desk duties! More volunteers would be appreciated to help look after the front desk on Saturdays and Sundays!
Hours are between 10 am and 5 pm, for at least one hour, please. The duties are principally checking in members and guests.

Pool News - Fence repaired; Heating problems

1) Volunteers, led by Philippe Ayme-Jouve, with help from Caroline Lambert, repaired the net protecting the pool area on Friday 17th May. Thanks to Philippe, Roland and Caroline. (See photos in the main article)
2) A component in the pool heat pump has broken and is on order. Caroline is chasing the supplier daily. We are aware the pool temperature has dropped from its usual 23 degrees. In the meantime, the hardy can continue to enjoy a slightly less crowded pool.

Golf News - 41st Spring Cup Prizewinners

52 players took part In the 40th Spring Cup and enjoyed wonderful weather. Congratulations to Dimitri Ansart, winner of the Castrol Cup, with a gross score of 37 points and to Financial Times Cup winner   with the best Ladies' Gross score (22). The best SAC scorer was Adriana Delacroix with 40 net.
